Acceptance
By creating an account or using HireQ, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. When we publish a new version, we will ask you to accept it before you continue using the portal. If you do not agree, do not use HireQ.
Beta service
- HireQ is in beta. Features may change, pause, or be removed, and the service may be interrupted.
- Payments run in Stripe test mode during the beta. No real card is charged, and test purchases create no payment obligation.
- Please report problems or unexpected AI results to hello@hireq.ca.
Accounts and security
- You must be an adult who can enter into a binding agreement. Candidates and recruiters register themselves; administrator accounts are created by HireQ.
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password confidential. We recommend turning on two-factor authentication in Settings.
- You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access.
Candidate responsibilities
- Only submit resumes, work history, credentials, and assessment answers that are truthful and your own.
- Do not have someone else complete an assessment for you or use tools to misrepresent your skills.
- Job assessments require your consent. You can decline an opportunity or an assessment.
Recruiter and employer responsibilities
- Post only real, lawful job openings that you are authorized to fill, with accurate information.
- Use candidate information only to evaluate candidates for your openings, and comply with applicable employment, human rights, and privacy laws.
- Do not export, resell, or reuse candidate data for unrelated purposes.
- Invite only people from your organization to your company workspace. You are responsible for their activity.
AI-assisted features
HireQ uses AI to structure profiles, ask questions, score skill evidence, suggest job requirements, and rank matches. AI outputs can be wrong or incomplete.
- AI never makes a hiring decision. HireQ does not automatically hire, reject, or shortlist anyone; recruiters make those decisions and remain responsible for them.
- Recruiters should review the evidence behind scores and may override a score by giving a reason. Overrides are audited.
- Candidates may ask for an explanation of a score or match and for human review by contacting hello@hireq.ca.
- Audio and video assessments are optional and may be recorded as described in the Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
- Do not attempt unauthorized access, probe for vulnerabilities, or bypass rate limits or security controls.
- Do not scrape, bulk-download, or automate access to the portal without written permission.
- Do not upload malware, unlawful content, or personal information about others without authority.
- Do not use HireQ to discriminate unlawfully or to harass anyone.
We may suspend or deactivate accounts that break these rules.
Paid services
Some features, such as Candidate Search and resume services, are paid. Prices and billing terms are shown before checkout and processed by Stripe. During the beta, checkout runs in test mode. Before we charge real payments, we will publish billing, renewal, and refund terms.
Your content
You keep ownership of the content you submit. You give HireQ a limited licence to host, process, and display it as needed to provide the service, including showing candidate information to hiring teams as described in the Privacy Policy. You can export or delete your data as described there.
Intellectual property
HireQ's software, design, branding, and content are owned by HireQ or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or reverse-engineer the service except as the law allows.
Termination
You can stop using HireQ at any time, and candidates can delete their account in Settings. We may suspend or end access for breach of these Terms, legal risk, or when the beta ends, with notice where reasonable.
Disclaimers
HireQ is provided "as is" and "as available", especially during the beta. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, and we do not guarantee that any candidate will be hired or that any job will be filled.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, HireQ is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or opportunities. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without limiting any consumer protection rights you have where you live, including in Quebec.
Changes
We may update these Terms. For material changes we update the version and date above and ask signed-in users to accept the new version before continuing.
